Legal Counsel (Fintech)

Location: Remote in Canada

Salary: CAD 140k–152k–165k annually

hirify.global is a global fintech company providing modular payment infrastructure, including payment acceptance, payouts, card issuing, banking, risk, and fraud management services.

What you will do

• Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial and transactional agreements.
• Provide legal support for payment products, sales activities, and merchant solutions.
• Advise cross-functional teams across Operations, Compliance, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product.
• Ensure product constructs and commercial agreements align with internal policies and applicable laws.
• Assist with managing and monitoring litigation across Canada and the United States.
• Liaise with external counsel and report to Senior Legal Counsel.

Requirements

• Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec or another provincial bar, or licensed and in good standing in at least one US jurisdiction.
• At least three years of relevant experience in commercial and transactional law.
• Experience drafting and reviewing information technology contracts.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the payment services industry.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• English proficiency is required for written and spoken communication.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of anti-money laundering regulations, the Bank Secrecy Act, and regulations affecting money service businesses.
• Knowledge of PIPEDA, GDPR, and personal data protection requirements.
• Working knowledge of cryptocurrencies, alternative payment methods, ACH payments, and NACHA rules.
