Senior Legal Counsel, Product and Regulatory (Fintech)

Location: Remote within Canada

Salary: CA$180,000–CA$210,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide practical regulatory advice to hirify.global Tech and hirify.global Bank while supporting growth and customer protection.
• Support the design and launch of financial products and features, identifying regulatory risks and helping teams build compliant solutions.
• Help establish and operationalize hirify.global’s regulated bank, including engagement with OSFI, FCAC, and the Bank of Canada.
• Advise Marketing and Growth on compliant financial services and consumer protection campaigns.
• Guide customer-facing teams on complaints handling, communications, and fairness considerations.
• Build scalable legal and regulatory processes for a regulated financial institution.

Requirements

• 6+ years of post-call legal experience practicing in Canada, in-house and/or at a law firm.
• Experience with financial services regulation, banking law, or consumer protection frameworks.
• Strong judgment and the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, CX, Risk, and Compliance teams.
• High ownership, proactive problem-solving, strong organization, and comfort with ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Experience at a bank, fintech, or regulated financial institution.
• Familiarity with RPAA and the Financial Consumer Protection Framework.
• Knowledge of AML/ATF and privacy laws.
• Fluency in French.
