Legal Counsel (Healthcare)

Location: Remote anywhere in Canada

Salary: CAD 135,000–155,000 per year

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and privacy and data protection agreements.
• Provide practical legal advice on healthcare, health and product regulation, privacy, corporate and commercial matters, procurement, marketing, intellectual property, information technology, artificial intelligence, and human resources.
• Prepare legal responses to client questionnaires and requests for proposals or information.
• Support legal, privacy, compliance, corporate governance, ethics, government affairs, and enterprise risk management initiatives.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Membership in good standing with a Canadian law society or professional regulator.
• Two to five years of post-call legal experience.
• Bilingualism in English and French is required.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare or life sciences.
• Legal experience in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, or British Columbia.
• Additional training or certification in health law, privacy law, or related areas.
