Head of Legal, North America (Fintech)

Location: New York City, USA (Hybrid)

Salary: USD 180,000–250,000

What you will do

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts with clients, counterparty banks, distribution partners, and suppliers.
• Implement and maintain standard agreements, including NDAs, business terms, ISDA/CSAs, and related documentation.
• Maintain HR policies, staff handbook procedures, data privacy policies, and compliance with applicable data protection law.
• Support regulatory change projects and ensure client onboarding, reporting, marketing documentation, and legal records meet applicable requirements.
• Monitor regulatory developments in the US and other operating jurisdictions and assess their business impact.
• Act as the contact for regulators and external counsel, oversee compliance monitoring and remediation, and report legal and regulatory risks to senior management.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of US financial services regulation.
• Knowledge of derivative documentation and regulation.
• Ability to interpret legal and regulatory provisions and advise stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work closely with colleagues and counterparties.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and market conduct standards.
• Self-motivation and effective time management.
