Legal Counsel (AI/PropTech)

hirify.global is building an AI operating system for residential lettings and operates more than 15,000 properties with $470 million in GMV.

What you will do

• Handle day-to-day legal matters autonomously, escalating issues and seeking guidance from senior legal counsel when needed.
• Support fundraising, commercial matters, litigation, employment, data, compliance, and AI-product roll-outs.
• Lead or support M&A deals as part of hirify.global’s acquisition-led growth strategy.
• Work with product engineers on legal and regulatory questions relating to digital products, data, and AI.
• Use AI tools, low-code/no-code platforms, and coding approaches to automate and scale legal work.
• Build reusable templates, playbooks, workflows, and the company’s in-house legal AI repositories platform.

Requirements

• Approximately 3+ PQE.
• Excellent academic and training background; UK or Australia qualification required.
• Familiarity with M&A.
• Strong private-practice grounding, ideally with some in-house experience.
• Commercial judgement, autonomy, and the ability to minimise business risk beyond a strict legal gatekeeping role.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role in the UK.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience using AI tools to create legal work product, including templates, playbooks, and automated workflows.
• Digital product, in-house, technology, or start-up experience.
• Lettings law, estate agency, or UK employment law experience.
• Experience leading compliance or contributing to operations outside a strict legal role.
