Legal Counsel (Games)

What you will do

• Manage the trademark portfolio with support from external counsel.
• Oversee group-wide compliance with data protection and online safety legislation.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of contracts across funding, publishing, marketing, platforms, partnerships, game production, employment, suppliers, IT services, and office leases.
• Communicate directly with internal teams, game studios, partners, and vendors throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Supervise and support the Paralegal with company secretarial activities, including share option administration, board resolutions, shareholder resolutions, and board minutes.
• Assist the Head of Legal with M&A projects and other business needs.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales.
• Typically 1–4 years of post-qualification experience; candidates at all levels will be considered.
• Experience in the games industry is highly desirable, or experience in another creative or IP-focused industry combined with a strong interest in games.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a positive team culture.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal colleagues and partners.

Nice to have

• Expertise in French, Mandarin, or Japanese.
