Senior CNC Programmer & Prototype Machinist – LATHE (Aerospace Robotics)

Location: Hawthorne, California, United States; on-site machine-shop work

Salary: $40.00–$55.00 per hour, with possible overtime during peak build cycles.

What you will do

• Program and operate 2-axis CNC lathes, including Okuma Genos L250 II machines and conventional turning equipment.
• Create, edit, and optimize Okuma G-code programs using Fusion 360, Mastercam, NX CAM, or comparable CAM systems.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD/CAM files, 3D models, and GD&T requirements to develop machining strategies.
• Set up machines, generate tool lists, select tooling, and optimize speeds, feeds, process efficiency, and tool life.
• Design and machine fixture tooling, maintain setup documentation and programs, and support equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Collaborate with engineering and production, troubleshoot shop-floor issues, improve manufacturability, and mentor teammates.

Requirements

• 8+ years of CNC programming and machining experience, including deep expertise in CNC turning.
• Proficiency in Okuma OSP control and G-code programming.
• Experience with boring, grooving, threading, drilling, complex turning contours, and aerospace-style applications.
• Experience with Fusion 360, Mastercam, NX CAM, or another CAM platform.
• Knowledge of tooling, feeds, and speeds for aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, plastics, and similar materials.
• U.S. Person status is required due to export-control regulations; ability to lift 25 lbs. and perform frequent shop-floor physical activities is also required.
