Collaboration Technology and Workflow Engineer (Microsoft 365)

Location: San Francisco; default hybrid schedule with in-office presence and work-from-home days

Annual salary: $115,000–$160,000; senior-level candidates may be eligible for a higher range depending on location, experience, and skills.

What you will do

• Architect, administer, and modernize Exchange Online services, including mailbox, group, permission, and mail-flow automation.
• Design and build workflow solutions with Power Platform and related technologies to automate manual processes and improve user experience.
• Gather business and user requirements through meetings and workshops, then translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Establish governance, standards, reusable patterns, documentation, templates, and deployment runbooks for workflow solutions.
• Use Power BI and Microsoft 365 reporting to support continuous improvement based on usage data.
• Lead technical design reviews, share best practices, collaborate with project teams, and mentor junior developers and architects.

Requirements

• 4+ years of directly applicable experience designing and implementing intranet and workflow solutions; 5+ years may qualify for the Senior designation.
• Deep expertise in SharePoint Online and Power Platform architecture and governance, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse.
• Experience with SPFx, React, TypeScript, Git, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with REST API design and consumption, plus JSON/XML data handling.
• Ability to balance customization, scalability, maintainability, and technical debt while addressing business challenges.
• Ability to work extended or weekend hours and travel when required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree and experience in law firms, professional services, or regulated environments.
• Microsoft 365 certifications, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, or Power Platform Solution Architect Expert.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft Graph API, Azure services, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, or Azure API Management.
• Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, CSS, KQL, Power BI, solution architecture frameworks, and DevOps practices.
