Software Engineer, Runtime & C++ Middleware

Location: Santa Clara, CA; hybrid workplace

Salary: $120,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and optimize low-latency interprocess communication and data-flow monitoring.
• Develop high-performance event logging, structured telemetry, and component health monitoring.
• Implement safety-enhanced memory allocators, memory provisioning policies, and lock-free data structures.
• Build network communication and coherency protocols for real-time systems.
• Manage on-vehicle configurations, validate system state, and optimize low-level OS interactions.
• Support Quality Management System compliance, quality monitoring, and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on coding experience with C++14 or later.
• Strong knowledge of Linux development tools, including build systems, compilers, debuggers, and performance analyzers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify, propose, and implement solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience writing, debugging, and profiling multithreaded C++ applications.
• Familiarity with robotics libraries such as ROS.
• Knowledge of real-time operating systems, database internals, network programming, GPGPU, or robotics.
