Software Architect (AI)

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada; specific in-office days are required each month

Annual base salary: CAD 111,308.33–155,435.00

What you will do

• Define and evolve scalable, secure, and high-performance software architectures.
• Design end-to-end cloud-native solutions integrating services, platforms, infrastructure, APIs, databases, and messaging systems.
• Lead architecture for distributed systems and AI-powered applications, including generative AI and agentic AI capabilities.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and establish engineering standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Evaluate technologies and emerging AI approaches for responsible product and engineering integration.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture, design, and code reviews while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience, including architecture of complex applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented software design.
• Experience designing scalable, distributed, cloud-based systems and delivering solutions through production deployment.
• Knowledge of software architecture patterns, APIs, relational and NoSQL databases, messaging systems, and system integration.
• French-English bilingualism is required; full professional English proficiency is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, orchestration, microservices, event-driven systems, DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability.
• Experience designing agentic AI architectures, autonomous workflows, and AI-driven automation.
• Familiarity with AWS AgentCore, OpenAI Agents SDK, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with AI, machine learning, data-intensive applications, or Agile development.
