Software Architect (AEC Platform Data)

What you will do

• Define and evolve cross-team architecture for data platforms and services within the AEC organization.
• Establish architecture standards, reference architectures, and reusable components to drive adoption across teams.
• Lead architectural governance, maintain architectural decision records (ADRs), and conduct design reviews.
• Design and guide the implementation of distributed systems, APIs, and data platforms utilizing batch and streaming processing.
• Ensure system reliability, security, and performance by defining SLOs and driving observability.
• Partner with product and platform teams to align technical roadmaps and integrations.

Requirements

• Must be based in Montreal, QC, Canada.
• 10+ years of experience as a Software Architect in data-intensive cloud environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong expertise in cloud services, API design, database architecture, and big data tools.
• Proven ability to influence without authority and coordinate across international teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for conveying architecture strategy to stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
• Strong AWS experience (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS).
• Proficiency with Snowflake, Kafka, Kinesis, gRPC, and GraphQL.
• Hands-on experience with RAG architectures, vector stores, and LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, Semantic Kernel).
• Knowledge of BIM/IFC structure extraction and CAD/point-cloud processing.
