Principal Data&AI Architect (AI)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; remote-first with flexible work hours and location

Salary: CAD 180,000–220,000 per year

What you will do

• Advise strategic customers on data analytics, data processing, data governance, artificial intelligence, and machine learning solutions.
• Design and oversee cloud migrations, enterprise data platform modernization, lakehouse implementations, and other complex technical engagements.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor, connecting technology recommendations with business outcomes, return on investment, and total cost of ownership.
• Support technical presales, scope engagements, prepare statements of work, and participate in account management with Account Executives and Presales Architects.
• Oversee delivery quality, project scope, budgets, timelines, customer escalations, and stakeholder expectations.
• Lead and mentor architects and engineers, including hiring, onboarding, feedback, goal setting, and professional development.

Requirements

• 7+ years delivering professional services on major cloud providers, with hands-on AWS experience required.
• 10+ years of experience in a relevant information technology environment.
• Experience with at least three of the following: large-scale workload migrations, enterprise data platform modernization, lakehouse implementations, data security and governance, or machine learning and artificial intelligence implementations.
• Technical experience with Python for data analytics, relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, ETL pipelines, Spark, data modeling, BI dashboards, data quality, lineage, catalogs, MLOps, generative AI, agentic AI, and foundational models.
• Experience presenting to C-suite, vice president, director-level, and technical audiences while managing multiple complex projects and stakeholders.
• Technical presales, customer consulting, budget and cost modeling, project resourcing, team leadership, mentoring, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
