Principal Data&AI Architect (AI)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Remote); remote-first work environment with flexible hours and location.

Salary: CAD 180,000–220,000 per year

What you will do

• Advise strategic accounts across data analytics, data processing, data governance, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
• Design and oversee cloud migrations, enterprise data platforms, lakehouse implementations, and secure data solutions.
• Guide project teams and clients to align technical outcomes with business goals, budgets, timelines, ROI, and total cost of ownership.
• Support technical pre-sales, scope engagements, create statements of work, and contribute to account management.
• Represent hirify.global through technical content, conferences, presentations, and industry evangelism.
• Lead and mentor architects and engineers, including feedback, goal setting, recruiting, onboarding, and performance support.

Requirements

• 7+ years delivering professional services on major cloud providers, including hands-on AWS experience.
• 10+ years in a relevant information technology environment.
• Experience in at least three areas including large-scale migrations, enterprise data platform modernization, lakehouse implementations, data security and governance, and machine learning or artificial intelligence implementations.
• Experience with Python for data analytics, relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, ETL, Spark, data modeling, BI dashboards, data quality, lineage, catalogues, MLOps, generative AI, agentic AI, and foundational models.
• Technical pre-sales, consulting, executive presentations, budget management, cost modeling, resourcing, and complex stakeholder management experience.
• Experience leading technical teams, mentoring staff, managing customer escalations, and providing constructive feedback.
