Veterinary Assistant

Location: NY - Gramercy, New York; on-site

Salary: $21–$30 per hour, plus bonus opportunities

What you will do

• Recognize medical emergencies and illnesses, assess patients, and record vital signs.
• Assist veterinarians with diagnostics, radiography, treatments, and basic husbandry and nursing care.
• Monitor patient condition changes and provide compassionate care.
• Prepare samples for external reference laboratories and run in-house laboratory tests.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
• Work tele-triage shifts and help maintain a hospitable clinical environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Availability to work Saturdays and on-site in NY - Gramercy.
• Knowledge of patient assessment, emergency recognition, nursing care, diagnostics, and medication administration.
• Comfort with computers and online tools.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Strong communication skills, passion for pets, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
