What you will do

• Support veterinarians and the practice team with proficient veterinary assistance and patient care.
• Assist with laboratory, radiology, anesthesia, and dental equipment, including procedures involving animal bodily fluids and tissues.
• Use integrated practice technology and PIMS while communicating patient updates to veterinarians and colleagues.
• Review invoices, process client payments, manage pharmacy records and controlled-substance logs, and support inventory coordination.
• Follow standard operating procedures and standards of care, clean workspaces after patient interactions, and complete required training.
• Work weekends when required; some travel may be necessary.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a veterinary practice.
• Experience in veterinary medicine and the ability to complete the Veterinary Assistant skills checklist.
• Strong client communication, empathy, compassion, observation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with practice colleagues.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 80% of a shift and frequently lift 50–70 pounds with an optional team lift.
• Ability to occasionally lift more than 70 pounds using a team lift and perform standing, pushing, pulling, carrying, squatting, and kneeling.
