Veterinary Assistant IV

Location: Onsite veterinary practices in Colorado Springs, Arvada, Littleton, and Denver, Colorado, USA. Full-time role; weekend work and some travel may be required.

Salary: $20.91–$31.49 per hour. Eligible for 401(k).

What you will do

• Support the veterinary practice team and deliver proficient medical care within the scope of the role.
• Provide patient care including blood transfusions, oxygen cage care, cardiac monitoring, dentistry, wound care, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring for unstable or high-risk patients.
• Train and mentor team members, manage inventory, and help address client complaints.
• Communicate patient updates to veterinarians and other team members across in-practice, referral, and home-care settings.
• Act as a PIMS administrative super-user, support technology adoption, maintain controlled-substance logs, and assist with pharmacy and inventory responsibilities.
• Follow SOPs and standards of care, maintain clean workspaces, and complete required compliance and self-development training.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program and current licensure preferred.
• Ability to complete the Veterinary Technician III skills checklist.
• 5+ years of veterinary technician experience in practice preferred.
• Strong client connection skills, compassion, and excellent verbal and written communication.
• Observational and analytical skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, self-starting environment.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 80% of a shift and frequently lift 50–70 pounds, with team lifting for heavier loads.
