Senior EHS Specialist (Advanced Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite at the Newburyport, Massachusetts facility; support for multiple shifts and locations may be required.

Annual base salary: $112,000–$155,000, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day implementation of site environmental, health, and safety programs and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, observations, risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses, and Job Safety Analyses.
• Identify hazards, develop corrective and preventive actions, and drive them through closure.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, and employees to implement engineering, administrative, and work-practice controls.
• Support safe introduction of equipment, processes, materials, and facility modifications, including readiness reviews and pre-startup safety assessments.
• Maintain EHS records and compliance data while coaching employees and leaders on safe work practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing or another complex industrial environment.
• Experience implementing EHS programs and working directly with manufacturing operations.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements.
• Experience with risk assessments, audits, inspections, incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Experience delivering EHS training and coaching employees and supervisors.
• Experience with combustible dust and associated OSHA and NFPA regulations; ability to spend significant time on an active manufacturing floor.

Nice to have

• ASP or GSP certification.
• Laser Safety Officer or Radiation Safety Officer certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• DOT HAZMAT training and certification.
