Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist (Chemical Industry)

Location: Onsite in Middleport, New York

Salary: $80k – $110k

What you will do

• Administer and improve safety systems, including incident reporting and action item tracking.
• Conduct safety training, audits, and employee coaching to reduce workplace risk.
• Manage waste and prepare federal, state, and local environmental reports to ensure compliance.
• Lead near-miss and incident investigations to implement corrective actions.
• Monitor new regulations that may impact plant operations and process systems.

Requirements

• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience.
• 4 to 6+ years of Environmental or Safety leadership experience.
• Familiarity with federal and state environmental and safety rules/regulations.
• Experience in the chemical industry is preferred.
