Director Legal Counsel, Contracts (Cybersecurity)

Location: United States — Remote; Eastern or Central time zone preferred; occasional domestic and international travel required.

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 depending on experience and qualifications, plus bonus.

What you will do

• Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop a global contracts team of legal and non-legal professionals.
• Draft, structure, review, and negotiate complex international SaaS, software, hardware, professional services, procurement, vendor, and channel agreements.
• Advise Sales and other stakeholders on non-standard commercial terms while balancing business objectives and legal risk.
• Provide guidance on data privacy, cybersecurity, information security, artificial intelligence, sanctions, export controls, anti-bribery, and regulatory compliance.
• Deliver contract training, manage the contract lifecycle, identify critical legal issues, and escalate risks to the General Counsel when necessary.

Requirements

• At least five years of progressively responsible legal experience in corporate and commercial transactions, including substantial in-house experience at a multinational technology, SaaS, software, cybersecurity, fintech, payments, or other highly regulated company.
• Experience negotiating complex enterprise technology agreements with financial institutions, banks, payment providers, insurers, and other highly regulated customers.
• Experience with artificial intelligence, data privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, information security, international compliance, and technology-related contracts.
• Experience with cross-border operations, international legal matters, local counsel, indirect channel agreements, and software-industry revenue recognition.
• JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• Strong negotiation, leadership, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
