Director, Commercial Legal (AI)

Location: Palo Alto, California, United States; in-office four days per week with one flexible work-from-anywhere day

Annual pay scale: $200,000–$300,000

hirify.global develops an autonomous sourcing platform that uses agentic technology to manage enterprise procurement from intake through award.

What you will do

• Lead negotiation and drafting of customer commercial agreements, including MSAs, order forms, SOWs, and data protection addenda.
• Partner with sales, deal desk, and revenue leadership to structure and close enterprise deals.
• Advise on privacy, security, compliance, liability, indemnity, IP, data rights, SLAs, pricing, renewal, and termination terms.
• Own AI-specific customer contract provisions covering training data, model outputs, IP ownership, transparency, and human oversight.
• Provide practical legal guidance to stakeholders and collaborate with Security, Privacy, and Compliance teams.
• Build contracting playbooks, templates, and self-serve processes for a scaling revenue organization.

Requirements

• 8+ years of commercial contracting experience, including at least 4 years leading enterprise SaaS negotiations.
• Experience negotiating directly with large, regulated enterprise customers on customer or third-party paper.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise SaaS terms and working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
• Independent ownership of commercial contracting with sound judgment on escalation.
• Experience contracting for AI or agentic products and knowledge of the EU AI Act and U.S. state AI and automated-decision-making laws.
• JD and active membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar.

• Fluency using AI tools for legal review, drafting, and playbook development.
