Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid. Travel to domestic and international supplier factories is expected for approximately 10β25% of the role.

What you will do
- Develop global sourcing strategies across compute, memory, sensors and LiDAR, cameras, PCBAs, harnesses, actuators, gearboxes, batteries, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Identify, qualify, onboard, and manage strategic suppliers while maintaining the Approved Vendor List and supplier risk profiles.
- Secure capacity and long-lead components for 3β5 year production and fleet deployment forecasts.
- Lead cost modeling, competitive bidding, value engineering, DFM/DFA, pricing negotiations, LTAs, tooling agreements, and other commercial terms.
- Support NPI from prototype through EVT, DVT, PVT, production ramp, and sustaining operations in partnership with Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management.
- Manage supply risks, supplier performance reviews, QBRs, material availability, inventory strategies, and escalations involving allocation, customs, freight, disruptions, and shutdowns.
Requirements
- 8β10+ years of experience in global supply chain, commodity management, or program management.
- Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects in fast-paced, technology-driven environments.
- Strong understanding of supply and vendor management, including supplier capacity, cost, quality, delivery, and risk.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, manage, and mitigate risks in large, complex programs.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including presenting strategies and metrics to senior stakeholders.
- Comfort working through ambiguity and solving complex problems without an established playbook.
Nice to have
- Experience with robotics, automation, compute, sensors, memory, or other hardware-related areas.
- Experience with contract manufacturers, EMS/ODM partners, supplier audits, FAI, 8D/CAPA, and corrective actions.
