Senior Propulsion Component Engineer (Fluids) (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain a U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR regulations. Flexible schedule and travel as needed.

Salary: $140,000–$195,000 per year, plus potential stock options.

What you will do

• Design propulsion system valves and fluid components for cryogenic, high-pressure, and high-temperature systems.
• Own component development from initial concept through product realization.
• Create detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
• Perform fluid, thermal, and structural analyses.
• Establish assembly procedures and work hands-on with technicians to refine hardware assembly.
• Define and support component development and qualification testing while resolving technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in valve or component design.
• Understanding of materials selection, compatibility, seals, wear, and force/torque margin determination.
• Hands-on experience with fluid, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with CAD software and the ability to learn new tools.
• Experience defining requirements and delivering hardware through conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, and testing.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and operating high-reliability, high-performance hardware.
• Experience with low-leakage, on-orbit propulsion components.
• Startup or agile development experience.
• Project management skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts across multidisciplinary teams.
