Propulsion Component Engineer (Solenoid Valve)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. authorizations is required for ITAR compliance.

Salary: $100,000–$155,000 per year, with potential stock options and benefits for full-time hires.

What you will do

• Own solenoid valve component design from concept through product realization.
• Create detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
• Perform fluid, thermal, structural, and magnetic analyses as required.
• Coordinate material procurement, part fabrication, and hardware assembly with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Provide technical support during hardware testing and resolve design and manufacturing issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
• 3+ years of experience designing solenoid valves or electromagnetic components.
• Hands-on experience with fluid and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software and ability to learn new tools.
• Ability to perform structural, magnetic, and thermal analysis in support of component design.
• Experience defining requirements and carrying hardware through conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, and testing.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and operating high-reliability, high-performance hardware.
• Experience with on-orbit propulsion solenoid valves.
• Experience in a startup or agile development environment.
