Assembly Integration & Test Technician II/III (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. A Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts may be required.

Base pay range: $25–$40 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Assemble, integrate, and test spacecraft hardware using engineering drawings, work instructions, manufacturing procedures, and quality standards.
• Install electrical and mechanical hardware, including harnesses, avionics, heaters, RTDs, brackets, connectors, and other flight components.
• Perform functional checks, continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and other production verification activities.
• Support spacecraft functional, comprehensive performance, environmental, and propulsion integration test campaigns.
• Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, system verification, and critical spacecraft lifts using approved equipment and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Technician II: 2+ years of relevant manufacturing experience; Technician III: 5+ years or demonstrated subject-matter expertise, preferably in aerospace.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical assembly tools, measurement equipment, calibrated tooling, harness fabrication, avionics installation, and spacecraft hardware.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, installation drawings, engineering intent, and manufacturing work instructions.
• Technician III candidates should have experience with technical leadership, mechanical rework, spacecraft propulsion, subsystem integration, troubleshooting, and manufacturing risk reduction.
• Knowledge of ESD, FOD, tool control, 5S, HAZMAT, calibration, cleanroom environments, and aerospace cleanliness requirements.
• High school diploma or GED; ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours, work at heights and in confined spaces, perform repetitive physical tasks, and handle loads up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, or NCCCO Certified Rigger certification.
• Experience with manufacturing work instructions, MRB, NCR, RCCA, 5-Why investigations, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SAP, MES, ERP, GD&T, or DFM reviews.
• Cross-functional spacecraft experience across avionics, propulsion, structures, harnessing, environmental testing, and integration.
