WASH Officer – Sanitation and Hygiene

What you will do

• Plan, design, implement, monitor, and evaluate hygiene and sanitation promotion initiatives.
• Develop SOPs, technical specifications, design reports, work plans, implementation plans, and project forecasts.
• Coordinate hygiene and sanitation promotion with water supply, health, nutrition, disaster risk reduction, and livelihood interventions.
• Train WASH committees, community structures, youth groups, and local authorities on improved hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative assessments, KAP surveys, follow-up assessments, and documentation of lessons learned.
• Coordinate with county government departments, communities, NGOs, partners, contractors, suppliers, and relevant WASH clusters and networks.

Requirements

• Degree in environmental health science, community development, social development, public health, or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant experience in WASH, public health, community development, humanitarian work, or development programming.
• Strong skills in PHAST, CLTS, sanitation marketing, and design-for-behavior-change models.
• Experience with community engagement, participatory approaches, community negotiation, WASH needs assessments, and program monitoring and evaluation.
• Good understanding of SPHERE and other humanitarian standards.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and computer application skills, including MS Office and engineering design software.
