What you will do

• Plan, design, implement, monitor, and report on Shelter & Settlement activities, including first-line response, repairs, rehabilitation, reconstruction, and infrastructure support.
• Assess buildings and shelter facilities and develop technical solutions, work plans, technical specifications, BoQs, cost estimates, CAD drawings, and related documentation.
• Supervise contractors and construction works, verify materials and workmanship, assess completion, and prepare payment recommendations and certificates.
• Provide technical support and capacity building to project staff, contractors, municipalities, partners, and local authorities.
• Monitor data and project quality, prepare progress and other reports, and ensure compliance with NRC standards, donor requirements, partnership agreements, Ukrainian construction legislation, and national norms.
• Support community participation, protection and needs analysis, distribution of materials and equipment, and development of improved technical assistance approaches.

Requirements

• Experience working within the relevant technical expertise area in a humanitarian or recovery context.
• At least 3 years of experience working as a civil engineer, including knowledge of BoQs, construction norms and standards, critical social infrastructure, design development, technical requirements, construction, and preparation of drawings.
• University degree in architecture or engineering, including civil, structural, electro-mechanical, hydrogeology, environmental, energy, or a related field.
• Documented results related to the position's responsibilities.
• Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and AutoCAD.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize a complex workload, work autonomously, and perform under tight deadlines.
• Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
• Fluency in Ukrainian.
• Pre-intermediate or intermediate English proficiency, written and verbal.
• Willingness to work in demanding and stressful situations, follow basic security rules, and travel frequently.
