What you will do
- Plan, implement, monitor, and report Shelter & Settlement activities, including repairs, rehabilitation, reconstruction, NFI distribution, and community engagement.
- Conduct humanitarian needs and structural assessments of buildings and shelter facilities.
- Develop technical solutions, specifications, bills of quantities, cost estimates, CAD drawings, and project documentation.
- Supervise construction works and contractors, assess completion, and verify materials and workmanship against technical specifications.
- Support municipalities, local authorities, partners, and project staff through technical guidance and capacity building.
- Track intervention data, prepare progress reports, and ensure compliance with NRC policies, donor requirements, and Ukrainian construction regulations.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a civil engineer, including construction standards, bills of quantities, critical social infrastructure, design development, and technical drawings.
- University degree in architecture, civil or structural engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, hydrogeology, environmental engineering, energy, or a related field.
- Experience in humanitarian or recovery contexts and in complex, volatile environments.
- Strong knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and AutoCAD, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Fluency in Ukrainian is required.
- Pre-intermediate or intermediate English proficiency is essential; frequent travel and work in demanding, stressful situations are expected.
