Environmental Field Technician - Emergency Response

Location: Ashland, Kentucky, United States; field-based onsite work

Salary: $14.90–$34.62 per hour

What you will do

• Perform hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous materials handling.
• Operate light and heavy equipment, hand tools, and powered industrial tools while using required PPE and respirators.
• Assist with field sampling, meter calibration, waste stream profiling, and drum inspections.
• Load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste and operate vehicles in compliance with U.S. DOT and applicable regulations.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather, elevated noise, confined spaces, low-clearance areas, ladders, scaffolding, and other elevated locations.
• Participate in rotating emergency-response on-call coverage every other week.

Requirements

• Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including lifting, pulling, climbing, and extended shifts of up to 12–24 hours during emergencies.
• Agreement to on-call emergency-response duties, including occasional weekends and holidays.
• Reliable transportation.
• Successful completion of a background check, drug test, and physical examination where required.
• Compliance with OSHA respiratory-protection facial-hair standards for positions requiring respirators.
• Valid driver’s license preferred; driver qualification is required for the role.
