Software Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Santa Clara, CA or remote, with travel to the Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter and in-person attendance during the first two weeks of onboarding

Salary: $110,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Transform and optimize storage for reactor data and physics results.
• Design and configure CI/CD pipelines for multiphysics analyses.
• Build tools that help reactor engineers visualize, compare, and evaluate reactor designs and physics.
• Integrate simulation tools into analysis pipelines and implement physics kernels.
• Develop reactor optimization schemes and statistical experiments to inform design changes.
• Identify and improve software-addressable inefficiencies in reactor design processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience.
• Fluency in Python and proficiency in Git.
• Experience with CI/CD.
• Clear communication, self-direction, creativity, attention to detail, and effective teamwork.
• Nuclear engineering experience is not required, but curiosity and eagerness to learn are essential.

Nice to have

• Rust or TypeScript/JavaScript experience, especially Svelte.
• Experience growing small software organizations or working with large data collection pipelines.
• Experience with optimization, statistics, design of experiments, or GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience developing software quality assurance programs and testing in quality-focused industries.
• Passion for nuclear power, nuclear fuel recycling, and sustainable energy generation.
