Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Location: Seattle, USA

Salary: $114,000–$196,000 per year, depending on geographic market, knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and automate large-scale, high-performance systems supporting marketplace growth and seller experiences.
• Build scalable data infrastructure and pipelines using strong software engineering practices.
• Develop tools and services that support third-party sellers across the platform.
• Own projects end to end, including development quality and operational health.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
• At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
• Experience building and maintaining highly available, distributed systems.
• Strong coding, problem-solving, data structures, algorithms, refactoring, and performance optimization skills.
• Ability to gather requirements and collaborate with product and technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring, APIs, NoSQL, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Iceberg, and ClickHouse.
• Experience designing and maintaining distributed systems at scale.
• Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments.
