Senior Software Engineer II (Backend)

Location: Remote (US). Must be based in the US and have the ability to work without current or future visa sponsorship

Salary: $131,000 – $245,000 per year

What you will do

• Architect and develop the cloud-native Stream Governance platform for Kafka and real-time data.
• Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of complex backend microservices in a multi-tenant environment.
• Balance reliability, scalability, and performance to maintain a mission-critical service with a 99.99% SLA.
• Manage and operate services across 100+ AWS, GCP, and Azure regions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers through code and design reviews.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to execute the roadmap for the Data Streaming Platform.

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry experience designing and operating production backend systems.
• Deep proficiency in Java, Go, C/C++, or Python.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and large-scale data pipelines.
• Hands-on expertise with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Must have the ability to work in the US without requiring current or future visa sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Apache Kafka, Flink, or similar data streaming technologies.
• Experience building multi-region services with strict availability and latency requirements.
• Contributions to open source, technical writing, or public speaking.
