Medical Manager

Location: Macquarie Park, New South Wales, Australia; in-person collaboration is prioritised.

What you will do

• Lead a national multidisciplinary team responsible for medical and rehabilitation service governance.
• Oversee medical expenditure, independent medical examinations, rehabilitation provider performance, and treatment governance.
• Manage complex injuries and support timely, appropriate, evidence-based care.
• Drive sustainable recovery and return-to-work outcomes for injured workers.
• Balance claims outcomes, cost control, compliance, and team member wellbeing.

Requirements

• Experience leading teams within self-insured workers’ compensation schemes or similar environments.
• Expertise managing workers’ compensation claims under self-insurance frameworks, including relevant legislation and internal policies.
• Strong case management experience and the ability to drive successful claims outcomes.
• Knowledge of medical and paramedical terminology and injury treatment processes.
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, decision-making, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
• A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, nursing, or a related field is desirable.
