TL;DR
Hardware Verification Engineer (Analog/Mixed-Signal IC): Validating mixed-signal integrated circuits through pre-silicon emulation, FPGA prototyping, post-silicon bring-up, and laboratory characterization with an accent on analog performance, hardware-firmware debugging, and automated measurement. Focus on developing validation fixtures and test plans, scripting instrument-driven tests, correlating silicon measurements with design expectations, and solving system-level root-cause issues.

Location: San Diego, California, USA — hybrid, with four days in the office and Fridays remote.

Salary: $94,000–$134,000 per year

Company

hirify.global supplies analog and mixed-signal semiconductors for consumer, computing, communications, industrial, and automotive applications.

What you will do

  • Validate mixed-signal IC hardware and related software or firmware before and after silicon production.
  • Define, operate, and debug FPGA prototyping and hardware emulation platforms.
  • Lead silicon validation plans, develop laboratory hardware and evaluation setups, and drive IC bring-up and debug.
  • Develop automated tests, instrument drivers, and scripts for laboratory measurements and data analysis, including AI-assisted workflows.
  • Characterize analog and mixed-signal performance across corner conditions and correlate measurements with design expectations.
  • Analyze failures, document results, and collaborate with design, verification, product, test, applications, and firmware teams.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of industry experience in hardware and software validation.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with IC bring-up, pre- and post-silicon validation, and digital systems.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, multimeters, and associated measurement methods.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python or other scripting languages, software development, and embedded systems.
  • Experience with hardware protocols such as I2C, I3C, SPI, MIPI, GPIB, JTAG, and PCIe, plus development boards, processors, microcontrollers, and Xilinx/Vivado FPGA tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot.
  • Experience with ARM, RISC-V, PIC, or STM32 MCU-based systems.
  • Knowledge of RTL, SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL, FPGA tools, or Matlab.
  • Familiarity with analog and mixed-signal circuit concepts, Git, and scripted regression frameworks.

Culture & Benefits

  • Close collaboration across system, digital, software/firmware, analog, verification, test, product, and applications teams.
  • Opportunity to work on low-power sensing solutions for portable, industrial, and automotive products.
  • Full-time employment in a hands-on laboratory and product-development environment.
