Systems Engineer

Location: Austin, TX or New York, United States

Salary: $150,000–$225,000 per year, excluding bonuses, benefits, and other compensation.

What you will do

• Design, build, support, and optimize high-performance Linux servers across datacenters and offices.
• Analyze, diagnose, and resolve Linux-based server issues in production environments.
• Create, test, deploy, and maintain operating-system packages, batch files, and scripts.
• Identify optimization opportunities to reduce latency and improve infrastructure efficiency.
• Manage configuration changes and coordinate solutions with internal technology groups and vendors.
• Contribute to long-term infrastructure strategy and capacity planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Linux/Unix administration experience.
• Experience with kernel tuning and BIOS configuration.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and topology, including NFS, DHCP, IP, TCP, UDP, TFTP, and NTP.
• Knowledge of Kickstart, Ansible, Yum, Git, and SVN.
• Strong scripting skills with Bash, Python, or similar tools.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate work with teams and vendors while supporting production systems.
