Senior Specialist, Patient Access

Location: Onsite at Beebe - Main Campus in Lewes, Delaware, United States

Salary: $18.65–$19.90 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform patient admitting, preregistration, demographic and insurance information collection, and physician order processing.
• Complete medical necessity, compliance, eligibility, benefits verification, and insurance plan coding activities.
• Collect point-of-service payments, explain payment plans and treatment consent forms, and distribute required patient documents.
• Conduct account audits, correct records, prepare reports, and support clean claim and point-of-service collection goals.
• Develop training materials, provide continuing education, and create department staff schedules.
• Provide on-call and after-hours support, including coverage for staffing issues.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, and denials.
• Knowledge of patient insurance processes, authorizations, benefits verification, health insurance requirements, and medical terminology or procedure codes.
• Ability to work onsite at Beebe - Main Campus in Lewes, Delaware.
• Openness to innovation, including AI, to improve processes and patient and client experiences.
