Quality Inspector (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; on-site. Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export control regulations.

What you will do

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of complex mechanical and welded components using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, FARO arms, and optical measurement systems.
• Verify parts and assemblies against engineering drawings, models, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Conduct in-process, first-article, final, supplier, and incoming inspections.
• Create inspection reports, non-conformance records, and traceability documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality engineering, and design teams on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Develop inspection methods, tooling, and quality procedures while maintaining and calibrating inspection equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical inspection experience in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing.
• Strong proficiency with precision measurement tools, metrology equipment, CMMs, and optical measurement systems.
• Working knowledge of GD&T under ASME Y14.5 and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined, welded, or sheet metal assemblies.
• Ability to document, communicate, and resolve quality issues with engineering teams.

Nice to have

• CMM programming experience with PC-DMIS, Verisurf, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent quality systems.
• Knowledge of visual, dye penetrant, radiographic, or ultrasonic NDT methods.
• Experience in high-mix, low-volume production and rapid iteration environments.
• Experience with ERP or quality management systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Solumina.
