Quality Inspector (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Torrance, California, in the Los Angeles area. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations under U.S. export regulations.

Salary: $30–$50, plus equity.

What you will do

• Inspect incoming raw materials and finished goods against specifications and purchase order requirements.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of machined, fabricated, and assembled components using hand tools, gauges, CMMs, and other metrology equipment.
• Inspect test setups, fixtures, assembly fit-ups, and test outcomes for conformance with requirements and protocols.
• Record inspection results, maintain quality records, and support root cause and corrective action activities.
• Help develop inspection procedures, training materials, and qualification processes for new inspectors.

Requirements

• 3+ years of direct manufacturing inspection experience in a production, fabrication, or assembly environment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other basic inspection tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
• Ability to work on-site in Torrance, California and work long hours or weekends when required for critical milestones.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Visual weld inspection experience, preferably with AWS or equivalent qualifications.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, NQA-1, or other quality management systems.
• Experience with CMM, advanced metrology, NDT methods, MES, leak checks, or vacuum checks.
• Experience supporting continuous improvement and scalable quality processes.
