Quality Control Inspector | Quality (Aerospace)

Location: South Burlington, Vermont, United States; onsite manufacturing environment

Compensation: $26–$37 USD per hour

What you will do

• Perform quality control inspections and testing according to inspection work instructions in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Retrieve and interpret engineering documents, blueprints, and technical requirements; develop inspection work instructions.
• Perform First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102.
• Complete inspection documentation, enter results into the ERP system, and create inspection reports.
• Assign traceability to incoming raw materials, quarantine or scrap nonconforming components, and communicate requirements to shop personnel.
• Prioritize workflows, maintain measuring equipment, and follow workplace safety and housekeeping requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in manufacturing operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and experience with dimensional inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gage blocks.
• Proficiency with computer applications such as Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or web-based software.
• Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5, AS9100, FAA regulations, and aerospace conformity requirements.
• Two or four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with Catia or Onshape, Plex, InspectionXpert, NetInspect, or equivalent software.
• Two or more years of aerospace quality control experience or ASQ certification.
• Experience with Six Sigma, non-destructive inspection, or developing manufacturing processes.
