hirify.global is a defense startup developing autonomous gun turret systems that use computer vision and control systems to target and neutralize small drones and loitering munitions.

What you will do

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for robustness under vibration, shock, thermal, and environmental conditions.
  • Perform FEA, modal, vibration, and thermal simulations to evaluate durability and reliability.
  • Integrate mechanical structures with electrical components such as wiring harnesses, sensors, and actuators.
  • Lead structural integrity testing, validation, and analysis for military-grade systems.
  • Create mechanical specifications, detailed drawings, simulation reports, and testing protocols.
  • Support prototyping, manufacturing feasibility, design reviews, and risk identification.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of mechanical design experience, including electromechanical integration.
  • Previous robotics, robotics lab, medical robotics, or autonomy experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with structural, vibration, and thermal simulations using ANSYS or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-810, Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Reliability principles.

Nice to have

  • Experience with MIL-S-901D naval shock testing and MIL-STD-461 EMI/EMC standards.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, shock absorption, or damping systems.
