Staff Mechanical Engineer (Robotics)

Location: On-site in Norcross, Georgia, United States; the position requires a majority of on-site work.

What you will do

• Own mechanical architecture decisions and lead the design of key subsystems for autonomous mobile robots.
• Lead multidisciplinary integration across mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
• Design and deploy hardware capabilities for cargo handling and storage on and above robot platforms.
• Transition prototypes to high-volume production with scalable, cost-effective, and reliable designs.
• Identify and solve electromechanical reliability challenges in real-world operating environments.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical reviews, best practices, and engineering culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of industry experience in mechanical design and product development, ideally in robotics, automotive, or industrial systems.
• Experience delivering complex, production-ready hardware in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Expertise in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Onshape, and PDM, plus FEA or simulation and tolerance analysis.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA, materials, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong systems thinking, cross-functional leadership, communication, documentation, and mentorship skills.
