What you will do

• Design mechanical components and assemblies for dexterous robotic hands, including fingers, linkages, transmissions, and palm structures.
• Own designs from concept through production while meeting load, durability, packaging, and form-factor constraints.
• Build and test prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, and manual fabrication to validate motion, grasp performance, assembly, and wire routing.
• Integrate tactile sensors, actuators, motors, and wire harnesses into compact fingertip and palm geometries.
• Produce 2D drawings using GD&T and drive supplier selection, first article inspection, and production ramp.
• Develop specifications and accelerated life tests for grasp cycles, impact, and wear, supported by tolerance, structural, and thermal analyses.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience, or equivalent hard-tech project experience, building complex miniaturized electromechanical systems.
• Experience with robotic hands, grippers, surgical robotics, prosthetics, precision mechanisms, or consumer wearables.
• High proficiency in SolidWorks, Catia, or similar CAD tools.
• Experience integrating sensors, small motors, flex circuits, and wire harnesses in constrained volumes.
• Experience designing for volume processes such as MIM, injection molding, micro-machining, and CNC, including work with contract manufacturers.
• Strong mechanical intuition, hands-on problem solving, rapid iteration, and curiosity about complete hand-arm systems.
