Senior/Staff Mechanical Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Milpitas, California, United States; 5 days per week in-office

Salary: $160,000–$265,000 USD annually, plus bonus and equity

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components for AI-powered robots.
• Integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components with multidisciplinary teams.
• Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to evaluate designs.
• Create engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Work with vendors to design and develop robotic modules.
• Fabricate, test, and validate prototypes against performance, reliability, and safety standards.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in robotics or automation.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with FEA and other simulation tools.
• Experience leading projects from concept to production, with strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics, mechatronics, or automation.
• Familiarity with actuators, sensors, and control systems.
• Rapid prototyping experience.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and robotics safety standards.
