Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting

What you will do

• Establish and lead the technical accounting and financial reporting function as its first dedicated member.
• Research, interpret, and apply complex U.S. GAAP requirements across revenue, manufacturing, inventory, software capitalization, R&D, stock-based compensation, financing, leases, international operations, and business combinations.
• Prepare technical accounting memoranda, accounting policies, and financial statement disclosures.
• Lead technical accounting and reporting activities for audits, IPO readiness, public-company preparation, internal controls, and future SEC reporting.
• Advise Finance, FP&A, Legal, Operations, Engineering, and executive leadership on new products, customer arrangements, partnerships, financing activities, and significant transactions.
• Build scalable processes and controls, support close activities, and coordinate with external auditors and valuation, tax, and consulting specialists.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation required.
• Current knowledge and practical application of U.S. GAAP.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3–4 years at a Big 4 or national public accounting firm and industry experience at Manager or Senior Manager level.
• Hands-on experience with revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, equity and financing transactions, and software capitalization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical memoranda and financial statement disclosures.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-growth technology, robotics, manufacturing, AI, hardware, or R&D-intensive environments.
• Experience with inventory, capitalized manufacturing costs, lessor accounting, or hardware-as-a-service and usage-based commercial models.
• Experience with IPO readiness, SEC reporting, public-company preparation, or capital markets transactions.
