Technical Accounting Manager (Finance)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

Salary: $175,000 – $227,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Build the financial infrastructure from the ground up using tools like NetSuite, Zip, Shareworks, and Pigment.
• Own technical accounting positions across revenue recognition, leases, project finance, and equity.
• Run the financial reporting close and produce accurate GAAP financial statements on a fast cycle.
• Manage external audit relationships and resolve complex accounting positions.
• Partner with strategic finance, legal, and commercial teams to structure high-value transactions.

Requirements

• Must be based in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY.
• Experience writing technical accounting memos on complex areas such as revenue recognition, leases, or business combinations.
• Proven ability to own a financial reporting close and produce GAAP financial statements.
• Experience building accounting policies, processes, or controls from scratch.
• Strong track record of managing external auditors through full audits.
• Ability to explain technical accounting conclusions clearly to non-accountants.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Big Four technical accounting or national-office background.
• Experience in capital-intensive industries like data centers, energy, or infrastructure.
• NetSuite or comparable ERP implementation experience.
• Pre-IPO or audit-readiness experience.
