TL;DR
Manufacturing Process Engineer (Metal Stamping and Assembly): Developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for advanced electronics products with an accent on tooling, fixture design, equipment development, process feasibility, and production quality. Focus on leading sample and trial production, analyzing root causes, improving process performance, and implementing PFMEA, Six Sigma, Lean, and APQP methods.

What you will do

  • Evaluate new product requests, provide RFQ data on production capacity, manpower, equipment, and tooling, and conduct process DFM assessments.
  • Participate in new project development, including tool and fixture design, equipment development and debugging, and outsourced processes.
  • Lead new product sample production and trial runs, and maintain flowcharts, PFMEA, SOPs, work instructions, and other engineering documents.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and process data, define improvement plans, verify results, and manage ECN activities.
  • Train operators, monitor production processes, provide technical support, and resolve process and quality issues through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support customer complaint resolution, system audits, cross-site technical support, technology sharing, and implementation of new technologies and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, automation, or a related field.
  • More than 5 years of experience in metal, stamping, and assembly-related product process development and improvement.
  • Professional knowledge of process feasibility assessment, verification, and process design for metal, stamping, and assembly products.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, Six Sigma, VSM, Lean, APQP, and quality tools; familiarity with ISO 9000, ISO 13485, and IATF 16949.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and PRO/E or Creo.
  • English reading and writing are required; English CET-4 or above is specified, while spoken English is a plus.

Nice to have

  • Experience with cleaning, plasma processing, riveting, tumbling, welding, laminating, and die-cutting.
  • Automotive products experience.
  • Extensive PFMEA and Six Sigma experience.
