Manufacturing Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: Tainan, Taiwan; available locations include Hsinchu, Kaohsiung, and Taichung, Taiwan. Up to 30% domestic and international travel may be required. Customer-site, cleanroom, non-standard-hours, and 24/7 semiconductor fab support may be required. Relocation is not available.

What you will do

• Develop, validate, implement, and maintain manufacturing test methodologies, scripts, procedures, and process controls for semiconductor equipment systems.
• Own manufacturing test solutions across multiple product platforms and support future product introductions.
• Collaborate with field service, installation, test, software, manufacturing operations, and global product support teams to deploy, troubleshoot, and improve test programs.
• Develop diagnostic tools, automated test solutions, software applications, digital workflows, and data collection systems.
• Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, product quality improvements, cycle-time reduction, cost reduction, and manufacturing efficiency initiatives.
• Support NPI activities, manufacturing readiness, risk assessments, PFMEA, equipment startup, qualification, documentation, and customer-site improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, computer, or software engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in manufacturing, test, product, field, quality engineering, or related technical roles.
• Experience supporting complex systems in manufacturing, semiconductor, or high-technology environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills, with experience developing test procedures, manufacturing processes, diagnostic programs, or automated test solutions.
• Ability to work across global cross-functional and customer-facing teams.
• Ability to work in customer manufacturing facilities and cleanroom environments, including use of PPE and physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and working in confined spaces.

Nice to have

• Semiconductor capital equipment industry experience.
• Programming or scripting with Python, C#, VBA, SQL, JavaScript, LabVIEW, or similar technologies.
• Experience with automated manufacturing, diagnostic, or test applications; test fixture design; manufacturing validation; or production support.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PFMEA, CAPA, MES, SAP, Factory Automation, or related platforms.
• Mandarin Chinese proficiency is highly desirable for frequent interaction with customers and teams in Taiwan and China.
