Financial Controller (Fintech)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom; hybrid work with office attendance approximately once a month.

What you will do

• Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes and prepare management and internal financial reporting.
• Maintain financial controls, balance sheet reconciliations, and the completeness and accuracy of financial data.
• Account for banking products and material transactions, including loans, deposits, derivatives, covered bonds, and RMBS.
• Support impairment assessments, loan loss provisioning, external and internal audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Drive automation, reporting enhancements, reconciliations improvements, and finance transformation projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Risk, and Operations.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, or equivalent certification.
• Background in Financial Services audit at a Big Four or mid-tier firm.
• 1–2 years of post-qualification experience preferred, gained in audit, banking, fintech, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of banking products, accounting treatment, financial reporting, impairment, and loan loss provisioning.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills and an interest in process optimisation, automation, and AI-enabled tools.
