Financial Controller (Fintech)

Location: On-site in London or New York

A cross-border fintech building digital financial services for emerging markets and diaspora communities.

What you will do

• Coordinate statutory and external audits across multiple global entities.
• Prepare audit documentation, schedules, and responses to auditor queries.
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations stakeholders to gather information and deliver audits on time.
• Document and maintain financial control processes and internal control frameworks.
• Identify control gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve financial governance and discipline.
• Support month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, reporting accuracy, data integrity, and finance automation.

Requirements

• CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification with 2–3 years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience in audit, financial reporting, or financial controls, such as Big Four or a similar environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
• Interest in process improvement, automation, and scalable finance processes.
