TL;DR
Manufacturing Manager (Drone Manufacturing): Leading production operations for life-saving public safety drones and related technology with an accent on team leadership, supply chain coordination, quality control, and manufacturing process optimization. Focus on managing multiple production lines, improving ERP/MES-enabled workflows, solving complex assembly and equipment issues, and expanding production capacity.

Location: Seattle, WA, United States; on-site. The role begins on second shift, approximately 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, with an anticipated transition to day shift within 4–6 months.

Salary: $85,000–$135,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations for a team of 10+ Production Technicians across multiple production lines.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage the performance of Production Technicians.
  • Prioritize work, allocate resources, manage production layouts, and maintain efficient workflows.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and Inventory teams to resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Monitor inventory and supply chain activities, support production planning, and contribute to capacity expansion.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and calibration, complex troubleshooting, production documentation, and process changes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
  • Experience with ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems software.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, production metrics, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering or technical field, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Ability to work on-site in Seattle and begin on second shift, with a potential transition to day shift after 4–6 months.

Nice to have

  • Experience in drone manufacturing, aerospace, or adjacent industries.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of advanced drone systems, electronics manufacturing, automated production systems, or aerospace and defense regulatory compliance.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing ERP/MES systems.
