TL;DR
Plant Manager (Robotics): Leading day-to-day operations for a robotics manufacturing plant with an accent on production execution, electromechanical assembly, quality, supply chain, and plant-scale continuous improvement. Focus on scaling production from prototype to high volume, managing SQDC performance, launching new production cells, and driving real-time corrective action across manufacturing operations.

Location: On-site in Glen Cove, New York, 5 days per week

Salary: $160,000–$210,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

  • Own day-to-day plant operations across production, quality, engineering, supply chain, operational excellence, HR, finance, and EHS.
  • Oversee assembly, testing, and PCB/SMT line performance, including quality and production execution.
  • Manage SQDC metrics, plant budgets, cost reduction, capital equipment analysis, and project cost analysis.
  • Build and lead manufacturing teams while developing operational systems and production-floor discipline.
  • Launch and optimize production cells, support new product introduction, and scale manufacturing from low to high volume.
  • Drive lean/TPS continuous improvement, vertical integration, insourcing, safety compliance, and cross-functional manufacturing alignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing operations experience, including significant plant-floor or plant leadership.
  • 5+ years of management or supervisory experience with direct reports in manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly, including mechanical fits, harnessing, wiring, actuators, sensors, and integrated testing.
  • Demonstrated lean/TPS fluency, SQDC ownership, continuous improvement, and experience with financial practices such as budgeting and cost accounting.
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems and data-driven plant management.

Nice to have

  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in robotics, automation, aerospace, or other high-mix precision electromechanical environments.
  • Experience standing up or scaling a new production line or facility.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives and challenge the status quo.
