Manufacturing Manager (Defense Manufacturing)

Location: Torrance, California, United States. Onsite manufacturing operations role. U.S. citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required.

Salary: $127,700–$161,000 USD annually for roles hired in California.

What you will do

• Plan and oversee daily production schedules to meet output, quality, delivery, and budget targets.
• Supervise, train, and develop production staff and shift supervisors while managing staffing and shift schedules.
• Monitor production KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to improve throughput and reduce downtime.
• Coordinate with Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering to resolve operational, equipment, and process issues.
• Manage production budgets, control costs, and maintain accurate records and performance reports.
• Lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of manufacturing or production experience, including supervisory or managerial responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, lean manufacturing, and quality systems.
• Leadership, team management, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office; Oracle experience is a plus.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a U.S. government security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability industries.
• Experience scaling production from prototype to volume.
• Familiarity with ITAR, AS9100, ISO, government, or defense programs.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or APICS certification.
