Manufacturing & Process Engineering Manager (Robotics)

Location: On-site 5 days a week in Glen Cove, NY, approximately 35 minutes from Manhattan.

Salary: $165,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own manufacturing and process engineering for robot production from initial process design through continuous improvement.
• Lead DFM reviews with product and mechanical engineering teams.
• Develop manufacturing processes, fixtures, tooling, and process documentation for robot assemblies.
• Identify and deploy automation across assembly, testing, and material handling.
• Improve production quality, throughput, yield, capability, and cycle time.
• Manage and grow a team of 3–4 engineers while defining the function’s charter and hiring roadmap.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering, including at least 2 years managing engineers in a hardware environment.
• Experience with robotics, automation hardware, or complex electromechanical assembly.
• Hands-on production-level experience with DFM/DFA, fixture design, and process documentation.
• Strong knowledge of automation systems and the ability to identify high-leverage applications.
• Demonstrated quality and throughput improvements, from initiative scoping through implementation.
• Experience building or formalizing an engineering function in an early-stage environment.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling from low-volume prototypes to thousands of units annually.
• Familiarity with MES, ERP, or industrial manufacturing data systems.
• Exposure to sheet metal, machined components, PCB assembly, or mixed-process manufacturing.
